Location
A private, serene and luxurious home stay situated in Karen/Langata area of Nairobi, Kenya.
Accommodation and facilities
Accommodation is mainly in luxurious Tree-houses designed with extreme comfort in mind. Every unit is different in design some have two levels with bedrooms upstairs and living areas on the lower floor raised 15 ft from the ground to gain an uninterrupted view of the Ngong Hills over unspoiled bush.
Ngong House accomodates upto 24 people in the following accommodation types:- 5 tree houses.
- Private cottage facing the swimming pool.
- Log cabin perfect for families (sleeps upto 6 people).
- Suite in the main house, ideal for elderly and disabled people.
Cuisine
Dining at Ngong House is a delight. From fresh succulent Molo lamb to lake fish to seafood from the Indian Ocean, our meals are prepared and served accompanied by large varieties of fresh local vegetables. Our Kenyan chefs have been specially trained by several visiting chefs from Belgium.
Breakfast and lunch are served in the garden under a canopy of acacia trees.
Dinner is served in a half open, majestic, thatched rondavel with a grand fireplace, adorned with candles. On occasions when there are several groups, we can provide extra private dining areas.
Your host Paul occasionally has drinks with the guests around the camp fire before dinner.
Activities in the area
There are many interesting things to do and places to visit in and around Karen. These include:
- Walk or drive to the giraffe centre, sanctuary to the endangered Rothschild giraffe where you can enjoy feeding them in pleasant surroundings.
- Drive to Karen Blixen Museum and step back into the time of ‘Out of Africa’.
- Drive to Elephant and Rhino Orphanage set up by the world famous Daphne Sheldrik.
- Shopping Excursions can be arranged to various locations.
- Visit to Nairobi National Park.
- National Museum and Snake Park.
