The hotel

Shandrani is the first five-star fully inclusive resort in Mauritius. The tariff includes all food, drinks, most sports and entertainment, previously considered extras. The Sport and Nature programme, sailing and kite surfing are not included. Shandrani has become well known for its spacious accommodation and superb facilities. Appealing to families are apartments and inter-leading rooms to cater for this market sector. Four restaurants offer different dining experiences and food styles. Shandrani is an ideal venue for conference and incentive groups.

Accommodation

Surrounded by a vast tropical garden with age-old trees, the rooms of the Shandrani all face the sea. The room interiors are elegantly furnished and decorated in restful colours with delicately sculptured wood finishing..

Restaurants and bars

Offering a change of scenery to its visitors whilst allowing them to discover its fine cuisine, Shandrani has varied the atmosphere and style of its four restaurants. Menus list a delicious mix of French, Italian and Creole flavours.

Evening – Smart casual. No shorts are permitted at the restaurants in the evenings.

Restaurants

Le Grand Port - Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The main restaurant, set on a wide terrace overlooking the pool and sea, offers buffet menus for a real dining adventure.

Le Sirius - Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Set at the edge of a swimming pool, with a spectacular view of Blue Bay.

Porto Vecchio - Offers the highly flavoured cuisine of Italy and the Mediterranean, accompanied by the best wines, to delight the most discerning diner. This restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.

Le Boucanier - Set in a quiet location overlooking the gardens, the exclusive Le Boucanier serves its speciality of fresh seafood, deliciously prepared by expert chefs. Regret no children under 12 years

Bars

Blue Bay Bar at the main restaurant. Sip a cocktail while you enjoy the evening entertainment and dancing to a live band.

Le Sirius Bar at the poolside of the Sirius restaurant is the place for a quiet evening drink or cocktail after dinner. Snacks are served at lunchtime.

Entertainment

The dedicated leisure and entertainment team ensures that there is always something of interest happening at the hotel. Every guest is free to take part, whether actively or as a spectator.

Daytime entertainment includes numerous activities, which change on a daily basis. Evening entertainment is rich and varied, from live bands to musical and cabaret shows. Typical Creole evenings are a weekly feature not to be missed. There's something for all tastes.

Golf

The 9-hole Mashie course offers enjoyment for all golfers, whether amateur or experienced. The 785 metre layout is a typical Links course, with ocean views from most of the holes.

Spa and Fitness

Le Source Spa

Professional therapists specialize in a series of spa treatments using local ingredients in the massage oils and the products of the renowned French manufacturer, Decléor.

Eleven treatment rooms are spread out in two wings of the peaceful La Source Spa. The first wing concentrates on traditional treatments and has two saunas and 2 hammams, one reserved for ladies only. There are 6 massage rooms including two double cabins with gazebos. The second wing exudes a “zen” atmosphere including a room for ayurvedic treatments, a balneotherapy room, a affusion shower room, a shiatsu room and a traditional massage room. The spa has a large relaxation area with loungers a health bar serving herbal tea and fruit juices.

The Wellness Centre also houses a hairdresser and beauty salon.

Le Source Wellness is an addition to the Spa facilities where guests receive one free 45 minute massage during their stay. Set in cool green surroundings the treatment rooms resemble rustic reed huts blending luxury with nature. The centerpiece is a pool inviting relaxation after a pampering experience. There are also saunas and hammams overlooking the lush tropical gardens. A large Indian-Style doorway leads to the ayurvedic treatment rooms.

Fitness

The most modern equipment for cardio and body building workouts is available at the Fitness Centre. A whole area is devoted to aerobics supervised by professional trainers.
