Location

Safari Lodge, located in Sir Richard Branson's Ulusaba Private Game Reserve, offers luxurious accommodation and world class service to guests on safari in South Africa.

Accommodation and facilities

The Treehouse Suite is about a 15 minute walk along the elevated walkway from Safari Lodge. It's great place to get up close and personal with hippos and elephants when they come to bathe and cool down in the nearby Xikwenga Dam. The am is the largest in the Western Sector of the reserve, and when you stay here it's almost as if they game comes to you rather than the other way round. Even the walk to the Treehouse is an experience as you pass under the canopy of ancient trees over the dry river bed - there is a fantastic array of bird life on display. Guests staying here can opt to dine privately on the deck area just off the suite. A Treehouse security guard is dedicated to the suite from 6pm to 6am every evening.

Each of the Safari Lodge's rooms is equipped with air conditioning and fans, providing the ultimate comfort for guests and an ideal escape from he hot African afternoons. Each room is designed to resemble a tree house, offering a truly unique style of accommodation that is a delight for guests. This elevated living provides stunning views of the African veld, allowing guests a form of live entertainment that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. The nearby waterhole ensures that there is a constant stream of animal traffic passing each of the Safari Lodge rooms.

Activities and game viewing

A safari in South Africa is a wonderful way to spend a holiday, at Ulusaba we offer game drives in open 4x4 game viewing safari vehicles twice a day as well as nature walks. These activities are included in your luxury safari accommodation rates.

There are very few things as soul affecting than seeing the magnificent creatures of Africa in their natural habitats. A safari in South Africa is a once in a lifetime experience; at Ulusaba we understand this and aim to make your African adventure as special, fulfilling and memorable as possible. The excellent game viewing experience is complimented by other activities such as stargazing, bird watching and moonlit bush dinners or sundowners (weather permitting).

The daily walk usually commences after breakfast. This is a fascinating activity as it allows you to observe the smaller animals that you would usually not see while out on drive. Our knowledgeable ranger and tracker will enthrall you with stories about the medicinal properties of plants, local beliefs regarding the ildlife and fascinating facts regarding the animals. As if some of the finest game viewing, cuisine and views in Africa weren't already enough, not to mention luxurious rooms and staff that make you feel so at home, Ulusaba also has a boutique spa at both Rock Lodge and Safari Lodge. The Aroma Boma Virgin Touch Salon offers a fabulous range of treatments to help you relax and unwind after the excitement of game drive.

Guinot Treatments offered include a liftosome facial using a high concentration of vitamin C and proteins to strengthen elasticity and firmness whilst stimulating cellular regeneration.
